Unplug from the Ordinary - Plug in to the Extraordinary Hi, I enjoy writing about the different
breathtaking and exciting things to do Miami Beach. So, last night
while I racked my brain to come up with an interesting topic I got
“high on my own supply” and spent the evening in the MimoBeach Diamond
One bedroom apartment.
While there I soaked in the
beach under a star lit night and basked in the warm Atlantic Ocean. I
floated buoyant in the Atlantic Ocean under a night sky and thought
about what I will write in my next blog update. When I Walked out of
the Atlantic Ocean the warm breeze gently evaporated the water from my
skin. I then rested on my back with the soft sand forming a
perfect shape beneath me to physically support my back. First
physically and then mentally I start to melt into the earth. My ears
fill with the enigmatic soft roar of the Ocean and my pupils gently
dilate and load the immense darkness directly above me inside. At this
moment it occurs to me that this is what I should write about. This is
what people pay for. This is what you cannot duplicate no matter how
powerful or rich you are. Laying on your back on Miami Beach under a
star lit sky listening to soft lapping waves merging your soul with
nature. That is the experience which is priceless, therapeutic,
spiritual, and nurturing. We live in a fast paced world. The
assimilation of technology in every aspect of our lives removes us from
what gave us life in the first place. Make the time to turn off the TV
and shut down the computer. Every town has some special place that can
deliver the kind of experience I received by enjoying Miami Beach at
night. It is important to unplug yourself from the ordinary and enjoy
something extraordinary. And if G_d willing you have the time and
means to visit Miami Beach then I will see you soon.

The SoBe Grande Ocean Front 4 Bedroom Home The name says it all. If you
have the $350 to $650 dollars per night then this is going to be the
way you roll. Think about pulling up in your yacht and docking it in
your back yard. Chilling in the Hot tub while sipping on whatever you
please. The pool waits for you. This is the incredible SoBe Grande. You
can sleep up to 8 in this house and it has parking for 4 cars. I know
it is a lot of money and more than most of us can afford. However, it
does not hurt to dream :-) . Speaking of dreaming watch this wonderful
live rendition of Pocket Full of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield. She
stayed in this house a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed meeting her.

Pelican Harbor Seabird Station - Saving Wild Exotic Birds from
Extinction When you visit Miami Beach you should take time
to visit the Pelican Harbor Seabird Station. The station is a
non-profit bird sanctuary facility funded only by individual
contributions. The station is not willing to take Government funds
because according to them if they do, it will end their autonomy and
handicap their capabilities to rescue disabled birds in the most
effective manner. Feeding time is the best time to visit the birds.
They act like a bunch of prehistoric dogs covered with feathers. Many
injured birds are found and brought here by concerned citizens. The
most common case is one that involves a Pelican and improperly
discarded fishing line or nets. Next time you throw away some fishing

Boston Dynamics PetMan robot - End of the Human Race? A robotic army will be here sooner than you
think. The kind that we saw in the Star Wars Saga is being developed
right now by Boston Dynamics. Say hello to the PetMan robot. There is a
lot of irony in that name. This amazing robot walks Heal to Toe like a
human. Check out the video and you will see what I mean. Scary? Yes.
You make up your own mind on how to feel about this. My feelings are
mixed. We can’t stop the march of technology. Ted Kasinsky (The
Unibomber) will probably jump around like a monkey in his cell when he
sees this. Will the robots take over one day and make us slaves?
Probably. In effect we already are slaves to the technology we covet so
much. Take a look at this video and let me know what you think about
the Humanoid cybernetic robot called PetMan.
The creators of this
technology claim that this robot will be used to test chemical disaster
suits. I think they make this innocuous statement so that the prospect
of a robotic army crushing whatever gets in its way does not alarm
people. However, I did some searches for PetMan in Google and found
this image on the Boston Dynamics Website. This is the real purpose of
the PetMan.

FEEDING THE GULLS ON MIAMI BEACH It depends on species but a 20 year old Seagull
is still young - seabirds, including gulls, of many species will live
40-50 years, sometimes more. As far as birds go they are one of the
most intelligent species of bird.
Some mornings when I can manage to get myself up early I love to go to
the beach to do some yoga and then take a short nap before beginning my
day. Every morning there must be one hundred seagulls walking around
looking for something to do. If I have some crackers in the house I
will bring them to feed the gulls.
They get pretty excited over a few bits of bread and it is pretty
entertaining to watch. They are always happy to see me. Check out the
video. It is a fun thing to do when you stay here in one of the Miami

many of us and have no opportunity to connect with nature this is your

HOTEL'S ARE GOING BOOM ! Homeland Security issued a nationwide warning to
“be on the lookout for terrorists” yesterday. As a result security is
now being upgraded at many of the nation’s stadiums, entertainment
complexes, and even hotels out of fear they could be potential terror
targets.
If you couple that threat with the fact that hotels nationwide are
facing their worst economic conditions ever and are having to cut back
on staffing and service levels, it seems that now is the time when you

SOUTH MIAMI BEACH ROBOTS This really freaks me out. Robots that move like
us. Look at this robot getting up from a fall. I see moves like that in
my yoga class. That is how good they at moving like humans. I say 5 or
10 years until we see them walking around in the streets. There
are so many implications to this I don't know where to start. Maybe I
could provide one with every furnished vacation rental apartment? What
would you have your robot doing?

August 31, 2009 Sometimes people do nice things. How about
bringing the world’s smallest horse to a children’s hospital? That’s
what the guy in this video does with his cocker spaniel sized horse. It
is a Shetland pony suffering from dwarfism. If this genetic fluke
happens again the horse will be the size of a lunch box. Enjoy.
It is a video from a NASA Space Shuttle mission. On this
mission the Space Shuttle released a 12-mile long tether with a
satellite attached to it. A tether, which is basically a 12-mile long
wire, attached to a power-generating box. The satellite was designed to
generate electricity from the Earth’s ion field. What happened instead
was a swarm of objects that looked organic pop out of nowhere. They
looked sort of like horseshoe crabs. They pulse with light and seem to
change shape. No one can explain what they are. Are they UFOs? Are they
conscious beings or simply space jellyfish? What do you think?
June 29th 2009 I was out the other day with my camera and
just stunned by all the beauty you can see this time of year in Miami
Beach. Everything is blue and green, pink and aqua. The colors are
gorgeous. I figured I would take some pictures to share with you. Here
they are - Miami Beach in Summer Time splendor. Enjoy! What you can't
hear is the most important part. The sound of the surf and the breeze
blowing is simply wonderful. The sound of seagulls and kids frolicking
about just makes you feel at peace. Right now the Atlantic Ocean is
once again warm and beckoning. Taking a swim in the ocean has never
been more relaxing and therapeutic. I know that everyone loves to come
to Miami Beach in the winter to get away from the cold but the best
time of year to visit is right now. The weather is fantastic and the

May 10th 2009 Word catches fast. You can bring your pup. Not
every Mimobeach apartment in South Miami Beach has a “YES” pet policy
but a lot of them do. No need to leave your loved one behind anymore.
If you don’t love the 4 legged kind – no problem. Each apt is
thoroughly cleaned after each pet leaves. If you are allegoric to dust
or pet dander rest assure that when you check in your sinuses will also
be in check.
April 11th 2009 Hi, I don’t often get the time but, when I
do I love to get out on the water. It is like seeing a different world.
Only about 5 percent of the Mimobeach visitors ever take the plunge and
rent a boat to see what is on the other side of the shore. Miami Beach
is surrounded by salt water bays. While everyone loves to go straight
to the beach I prefer to go to the bays and find peace and queit. It is
incredible how in just moments you can be floating in the middle of the
bay without a care in the world while the hustle and bustle of electric
Miami Beach happens just a few miles away. Many times a Manatee or
Dolphin will swim by on their way to find fish or whatever it is that
they do. The birds are also a wonderful sight to see. I discovered a
deserted island where hundreds of juvenile aquatic birds nest and
practice flying. It is a beautiful sight to see. So next time you are
